Citizen Media and Documentation Panel at Stefan A. Riesenfeld Symposium

I was a speaker at the 2021 Stefan A. Riesenfeld Symposium titled ‘’Global Speech Under Pressure. The Promise and Challenges of Free Expression and Digital Rights,’’organized by the Berkeley Journal of International Law.  As part of a panel titled ‘’Citizen Media and Documentation’’, I spoke about government and corporate policies that prevent citizens and journalists from effectively documenting human rights abuses, including repressive government regulations and the increasingly role played by algorithms in moderating and regulating content on social media.
